My sister and I set up our own little photo booth! There are many ways to go about doing this. For a small family gathering or a birthday party with a few friends this can be put together via the instructions below. For something more extravagant or with more guests this would have to be adapted. This is a down to earth, simple approach.
- Camera with flash and self timer
- White Wall
- Photoprops (Free printables below)
- Popsicle Sticks, dowels, or straws
InstructionsThese are not step by step instructions. Rather, guidelines. You are going to need to find a white wall in your home. The lighting is not very important as we will be using flash. However, natural light is better so if you do have it you can try and use it. Set up your camera on a tripod at about shoulder level. Play around with the flash until you get what you want. On my camera we just set up the regular fill flash. Set your 10 second camera timer. For me, I have to set that timer every time. I think if you had instructions right there is wouldn't be hard at a small birthday party or everyone can do it at once. For a larger gathering there are other options that will be more convenient!
For these props I just printed them on printer paper then hot glued popsicle sticks to them. I suggest using card stock or thicker paper because the props will support themselves better.
